Embrace Nature at Valley Forge Park
March 30, 2018
One of the best parts of living at King of Prussia’s Park Square is being in such close proximity to amazing nature spots, like Valley Forge Park. Our residents love hanging out at our on-site park where they can relax with friends or go for a walk on the mile long trail. For even more green spaces, King of Prussia residents enjoy visiting local parks. Embrace nature at nearby Valley Forge National Historical Park.
Valley Forge National Historical Park is a seven minute drive from Park Square and houses many historical sites and animal species. Begin your visit by stopping in at the Visitor Center where you can pick up a park map and look through the Encampment Store. Explore exhibits on the Revolutionary War and the 1777-1778 winter encampment as well as the park’s regular museum collection.
Next, walk, run or bike the park’s trails. There are 19.5 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of biking trails available for use. Check out the 6.6 Joseph Plumb Martin Trail to see key historic sites on the property. Horseback riders can also enjoy 17 miles of trails exclusively for riding.
Want to explore the park with a tour guide? Consider attending a bird watching session where you can observe over 227 different bird species over a two hour period. You can also participate in a trolley or self-guided driving tour. Visit the park’s official website for more information on tours.
Spend the evening in the Washington Memorial Chapel, which was once described as “The Shrine of the American people” by President Woodrow Wilson. Take note of the beautiful stained glass windows and intricate architectural details.
